Terre des Femmes – Menschenrechte für die Frau e. V. (Human Rights for Women). (proper spelling: TERRE DES FEMMES; French for ‘Earth of Women’) is a non-profit association founded in 1981 in Hamburg, with an affiliated foundation established in 2004, which campaigns for an equal and self-determined life for girls and women worldwide. It supports girls and women affected by violence through activism, public relations work, the promotion of projects and international networking. The organisation’s focus areas are domestic and sexualised violence, forced marriage and honour crimes, female genital mutilation as well as trafficking in women and prostitution.
